2019/20
The external audit of the draft statement of accounts for the year ended 31 March 2020 has not yet been completed by our external auditors, EY LLP, due to a number of incomplete elements that they have been unable to audit as yet. This situation is allowed for by Regulation 10, paragraph 2a of the Accounts and Audit Regulation 2015, as amended by the Accounts and Audit (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 No. 204.

This notification explains, as per Regulation 10 paragraph 2a, that we are not yet able to publish our audited 2019/20 final statement of accounts in line with the publication date of 30 November 2020. The Force and the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner are working closely with the auditors to enable them to complete their work. The audited statement of accounts will be published as soon as reasonably practicable after presenting them to the audit committee.

2018/19
The external audit of the draft statement of accounts for the year ended 31 March 2019 has not yet been completed by our external auditors, EY LLP, due to EY’s resourcing pressures. This situation is allowed for by Regulation 10, paragraph (2a) of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015. (See attached link: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2015/234/regulation/10/made). Therefore this notification explains, as per paragraph (2a), that we are not yet able to publish our audited 2018/19 final statement of accounts in line with deadline of 31st July 2019, as per paragraph (1). The audit committee have considered the results of the 2018/19 audit, the final audited accounts will be published by end of January 2021.
