Ian Haldenby

Ian joined HM Revenue and Customs in January 2012. During the previous 12 months he was head of internal audit for both the Department of Education and the Home Office.

Ian is keen to improve the internal audit service both in HMRC and across Government and is leading many changes within Internal Audit with his newly developed Change Programme. He is also taking an active role in establishing the internal audit shared service for Government as referred to in the Civil Service Reform Plan.

Ian graduated from York University in 1992 and has since worked for a variety of organisations in both the public and private sectors. Ian is a Chartered Accountant by profession and latterly has worked for Norwich Union Life and Asda in a number of finance and internal audit roles before joining the public sector in 2008.
